Artists have been stepping up to the plate to fight cabin fever with creativity pretty much since day one of the COVID-19 crisis, and one of Nova Scotia’s higher-profile acts The Stanfields has taken the bull by the horns to turn Premier of Nova Scotia Stephen McNeil’s meme-worthy admonishment to stay the blazes home into a slice of kitchen party gold. Produced in self-isolation, with a homemade video to match, the band’s anthem for shut-ins is also a fundraiser for Feed Nova Scotia with all proceeds from downloads going directly to the vital organization.
Released on Tuesday, the song has already racked up 100,000 views and raised around $2,000 through the band’s online store where it's pay-what-you-can and every dollar counts. Hopefully more will chip in and take the song's message to heart.
